TOPIC TUESDAY

This week's topic is the Columbia County Fair and Livestock Show. The fair and livestock show has been happening in our county since 1937. The fair and livestock show is this week at the Fairgrounds on Columbia Road 13. They have games, carnival rides, livestock and poultry showing, and even arts and crafts. Local organizations have booths set up for food, drinks, and other items. There is also Bingo for any Bingo fans! Please be cautious if you are travelling Columbia Road 13 as sometimes it is necessary to park on the shoulders of the road. Columbia County Sheriff's Deputies and Reserve Deputies are patrolling at the fair every night and will be able to provide aid if necessary. Our mobile Command Center will be there as well near the front entrance. If there is an emergency, please follow the direction of law enforcement on scene. Remember to dress appropriately for the fair - no do rags, backpacks or inappropriate attire. Unattended children will be kept at the Command Center until a parent/guardian can be located. Magnolia Police Department gave some good advice earlier in the week about taking a picture of your child or children once you're inside the fair so you will have an accurate description of what they are wearing and their hairstyle. If the child or children are too young to remember your name or phone number, put it in their pocket on a piece of paper.

Thank you all for supporting our community and the fun events that it hosts.
