Mike Loe

Mike Loe was elected Sheriff of Columbia County in 2010. He began his law enforcement career in 1972 as City Marshall in Taylor, Arkansas, while attending Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas. In 1975, he joined the Arkansas State Police, serving thirty-six years before retiring to take office. He took office 1 January 2011.   Sheriff Loe is the chief law enforcement officer for the county. Sheriff Loe is responsible for overseeing the operation of the jail facility and sheriff's department. 
Sheriff Loe's goal is to bring the latest technology and training for all officers, and provide a well-equipped vehicle fleet to better serve and protect the citizens of Columbia County. Sheriff Loe will continue to utilize advanced technology and training to improve all aspects of the Sheriff's Office and Jail Facility.

Chief Deputy 

Doug Wood is the Chief Deputy for the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. Chief Deputy Wood began his law enforcement career in 1972. He joined the Sheriff's Office as Chief Deputy on 1 January 2011.  
Chief Wood's duties include supervising Criminal Investigation Division and daily operations of Jail Facility.

Sheriff's Secretary

Heather is the Columbia County secretary and administrative assistant, and also serves as Civil and Warrant Clerk. She joined the Sheriff's Office 1 January 2011.

CID Secretary 
Megan is the secretary and administrative assistant to Criminal Investigation Division and Chief Deputy Doug Wood. She is also the Sex Offender Coordinator. She joined the Sheriff's Office in November of 2010. 


Meschelle Thompson
Bonds/Fines Clerk 

Meschelle serves as the Columbia County Sheriff's Office Bonds and Fines Clerk. Meschelle manages bonds and fines, civil fees, citations, and collects restitution for victims.  She started her employment with the Sheriff's Office in January 2022 and is located in the Business Office.


Rebecca Ganaway

Court Records Clerk

Rebecca serves Columbia County Sheriff's Office as Court Records Clerk and Community Service Coordinator. She has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since October 2016 and is located in the Business Office.


Jackie Stevens

Part-Time Secretary 

Jackie Stevens is a part-time secretary for the Sheriff's Office. Jackie's main responsibility is to assist the Court Records Clerk and the Bonds and Fines Clerk. She began her employment with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office in April 2011.
