This week's topic is back to school safety. School started back yesterday! Please be aware of school zones in the city and county as speed limits and ticket prices are different for school zones. Give yourself extra time to account for school buses traveling before and after school as well.  We want our parents, caregivers and students in our community to make it to school safe and sound. 

Speak with your kids about bullying and how to handle it if the situation arises. Cyber bullying, or bullying on social media apps, is sadly also common in this day in time. There are a lot of websites to give pointers on what to do if your child has been bullied or is being bullied. If you believe your child is being bullied, please report it to the appropriate authorities at your child's school.

There are also several different parental control apps to choose from that can be put on your child's phone. Apps like this are not to invade your child's privacy, but they are there to help teach your child(ren) about online safety and help you keep your child(ren) safe. Just like adults, children can make mistakes or wrong decisions, especially when they think no one is watching.
