As you may have heard, there was a shooting incident reported at The Columbia County Sheriff Office last night on March 30, 2023. After further investigation, this incident took place at another location and while transporting the victim to the hospital, the situation escalated in the parking lot of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office. The victim was transported to the Magnolia Regional Medical Center for treatment and a witness was detained.

Once again, this incident was NOT AN OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING, NOR WERE THERE ANY DETAINEES INVOLVED.

I want The Citizens of Columbia County to know the correct information since wrongful information was given. The case was investigated and referred to the Prosecutor's office for review.
