On March 29, 2023, around 3:56 PM, Deputies were dispatched to Magnolia Regional Medical Center for a gunshot victim. Upon further investigation, Scott Anthony Howell, a 62 year-old from Waldo, was arrested at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center. Howell is charged with battery 1st degree, 2 counts of possession of firearm by certain persons, and aggravated assault. Howell will be first appeared on March 31, 2023 at 8:30 AM at the Detention Center. The investigation is still ongoing.
