On September 25, 2021, there were reports of "shots fired" at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. There were no injuries reported. During the investigation, a suspect was named as Jaqualin Young, 21 of McNeil. Young was arrested on September 28, 2021, at his home with no incident. He is being charged with two counts of attempted murder, 2nd degree, ten counts of aggravated assault, and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor, 1st degree. Mr. Young is being held at the Columbia County Detention Facility on a $350,000 bond.
