On Sunday, January 27, 2019, Columbia County deputies were called to Columbia Road 58, right outside the city limits of Waldo, in reference to a person lying in the middle of the road. As investigators arrived and processed the scene, the person was found to be deceased and was identified as Wallace Turner, Jr., age 39 from Waldo. Investigators have gathered that Turner stopped at a local convenience store in Waldo and left the store walking, heading west. Investigators are interviewing witnesses as they come forward. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and has been confirmed as a homicide by the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory. The Crime Laboratory will be giving our agency more information as it becomes available. The investigation is ongoing, and there are no suspects at this time.
