On February 19, 2014, Deputies were dispatched to a residential burglary in progress on county road 5 in Magnolia. The subjects involved in the burglary left the residence in a vehicle, and the victims were able to stop the vehicle in question and speak with the driver. Once deputies arrived, they spoke with the suspect and the victims. Stolen items from the residence were found in the vehicle, and more items were found in a wooded area near the residence. Arrested was Christopher Nipper, 30 of Emerson, and he was charged with theft of property and residential burglary. He had a first appearance on February 20, 2014, and bond was set at $25,000. He is currently still in custody at Columbia County Detention Facility.

 

On February 22, 2014, Deputies were dispatched to a breaking or entering that had just occurred on Hwy 98 in Emerson. When Deputies came in contact with the suspects involved, they were in possession of multiple stolen items from a building on the property. The suspects that were arrested were Brian Bell, 28 of Magnolia, Neil Green, 39 of Magnolia, and Rashad Cooper, 25 of Magnolia. Bell is charged with breaking or entering, criminal trespass, theft of property with a value of under $1,000, and possession of marijuana.  Green is charged with breaking or entering, criminal trespass, theft of property with a value under $1,000, and possession of an instrument of crime. Cooper is charged with breaking or entering, criminal trespass, theft of property with a value under $1,000, and possession of marijuana. All are being held at Columbia County Detention Center awaiting first appearance.
