On August 6, 2019, at approximately 11:57 A.M., Waldo Police Chief Reggie Ellis was notified of a body lying in the roadway on North Locust Street. When he arrived, he found the victim in the street in the 700 Block of North Locust. He found the victim, who was identified as Stanley L. Milner, a 32-year-old resident of Waldo. A joint investigation was conducted with the Waldo Police Department, Magnolia Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals, and Taylor Police Department. When major crimes happen in Columbia County, all agencies participate with the investigation. Upon further investigation, Mario Easter, 39-year-old resident of Waldo, was identified as a suspect. An arrest warrant was approved and issued by Honorable Circuit Judge David Talley, Jr. Mario Easter was located at the intersection of Boundary and West Monroe Street traveling east in a white 2007 Dodge Charger. Investigator James Skinner with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Mario Easter, who was taken into custody at 1:53 A.M. on August 7, 2019. Mario Easter is currently being held at the Columbia County Detention Facility for Capital Murder and Possession of Firearm by Certain Person with no bond, where he is awaiting first appearance.
