I would like to continue to warn citizens about the scams that are happening daily. These scams happen via phone, email, and in person. We have had reports of numerous scams over the phone reporting to be from the IRS, the Lottery, and the Publisher’s Clearing House. None of these agencies would contact anyone over the phone about amounts owed or any winnings. I also want to warn you of the scams that happen in person, such as the asphalt scam we recently published. If you need asphalt or gravel, please contact someone local and have them give you a quote. We are having issues with citizens overpaying for their gravel and asphalt when they are solicited at their homes. I just want everyone to be more careful because scammers are finding more ways to try to trick us.
