Sheriff Loe received information about a new scam via telephone. The scammers are calling from (213) 603-9091 stating they are representatives from the US Dept of Human Affairs and that there is a problem with your taxes. The scammers are threatening to put liens on your house, vehicle, and bank accounts unless you would like to make a payment today by giving them your credit card number or bank account information. Please do not give the scammers your credit card or bank account information. Be cautious of who you give your personal information to over the phone or via e-mail. We want our citizens’ identities to be safe.
