PRESS RELEASE

     On the 13th day of January 2024, Detectives from Magnolia Police Department and The Columbia County Sheriff Office responded to a gunshot victim at The Magnolia Regional Medical Center. At the time, the victim was not identified nor was there any information in the location of the incident. The victim later was pronounced deceased by Columbia County Coroner Randy Reed and was also identified as Patrick D. Jamerson of Magnolia. Detectives and Deputies then received information on a possible suspect and a vehicle that may have been involved. During the search for both, Deputies then saw the person of interest and held him for questioning. After being questioned, the person of interest was then identified as Joshua L. Carrington of McNeil. Carrington was then arrested and is being charged with Murder in the Second Degree. Carrington is being held at The Columbia County Detention Facility awaiting First Appearance. The body of the victim will be sent to The Arkansas State Crime Lab for an examination.
